Akyra's baby blessing in Denver

We started out our adventure with Ben, Jen, baby Lizzy, Ryan, and Jenny arriving at our house at 10:15 p.m. on Wed. night; Sharon and Aaron had passed through earlier that day on their way to Idaho to go camping. Corey and his brothers stayed up until 2:00 a.m. playing the Wii. Corey was so excited to finally have someone to play with him. Bruce and Joyce drove through the night and arrived Thursday morning around 10:00 a.m. We then loaded up and head out for Denver around 2:00 p.m. Everything was going smooth until we crossed into Colorado and our front tire on the drivers side exploded! Luckily Bruce and Joyce were following us and Corey was able to pull over without losing control. Kiana and Caden were excited to get out of the car and there just happened to be a dirt road that ran parallel to the freeway so we drove the truck on to the dirt road to change the tire and let the kids play. It is amazing what will entertain a 4 year old and a 2 year old; Grandma and a hill of red ants was all it took! We made it to Amy and Charles without any other problems and had a wonderful weekend. We went to an amazing fireworks display in the Bronco's stadium after a professional lacrosse game, compliments of Charles, who happened to get us the most amazing seats! Then on Sat. we lounged at the pool and ate pizza and finished the day with a barbecue at Charles parent's house. Sunday morning we all rushed to the church for Akyra's blessing and afterwards met at Amy and Charles club house for a wonderful lunch before we were on our way back to Rawlins. It was so nice to get together with everyone to celebrate the birth and blessing of baby Akyra, thanks to Amy and Charles for a wonderful weekend.
